The Village Sign Returns - Video

The installation of the newly restored village sign in February 2016, was caught on camera our very own Arthur Grosset and his wife Libby who is seen in the video taking still pictures (you can see them in the carousel on the home page). This short film shows the sign post being erected and then the freshly repainted sign being attached to the top. The crew of fitters can be seen making fairly light work of what is actually a very heavy and awkward assembly.

The fitters were Don Reynolds (red check top), Adrian Keitley-Webb (green overalls and cap) and Wayne Tanswell the signwriter.

Special thanks go to Don Reynolds, who also recently managed the repair to the village pump, and Adrian Keitley-Webb, who provided the heavy lifting machinery.

Look out too, for a special appearance by our own Nicola Smith near the end of this film. I'm sure she will sign your autograph book if you ask her nicely!
